170 Joralemon Street

Current Work:

10,500 square foot Lower School located at 100 Clinton Street, near the main campus on Joralemon Street. This building is a two story structure to be expanded with a Penthouse for a STEAM (Science, Technology,  Engineering, Art, Math). The building is designed according to Passive House design guidelines (PHPP) although it cannot be certified due to the required NYC ventilation rates. The design includes envelope insulation levels beyond Code requirements, triple glazed windows, Variable Refrigerant Flow heating and cooling and ten Energy Recovery Ventilators.

Past work:

The campus on Joralemon Street sums 220,000 square feet forming a connected campus composed of buildings dating from the late 1800’s through the 1950s, with the addition of an atrium that links the Joralemon buildings to the Clinton Street church that dates from 2002. Our work has consisted of summer renovation projects every year starting in 2006 which allowed the school to modernize classrooms, administrative offices and athletic facilities without affecting classes. This process effectively ended with all areas of the contiguous campus having been upgraded by the 2002 renovation and the summer work.
